Volunteer Opportunities
Back
Volunteers are an important part of our service to families and
community. If interested in one of the opportunities noted here, or if you
have time to give in another way please call our office at 208-354-SAFE.
Trained volunteer advocates respond to our 24-hour support hotline
calls
Our trained volunteer advocates are kind, compassionate individuals who
provide confidential, non-judgmental support to community members
experiencing domestic violence, abuse, sexual assault and other
relationship issues. Advocates are trained to listen and offer resources
that help people develop the strength required to make positive life
choices.
FSN advocates complete 40 hours of training that prepares them to
answer our 24-hour support hotline. Hotline advocates assist people of all
ages experiencing a myriad of issues and can always rely on a FSN staff
person to provide backup assistance. Advocates are available to answer our
support hotline cell phone for one week every two months or so. They may take the
cell phone and resource notebook with them to work or leisure activities,
as long as they remain within cell range from Jackson to Pocatello.
The supportive assistance delivered during a support hotline call may last from
just a few minutes to one hour or more. We have no way of knowing when the
phone will ring or what level of assistance will be needed. Our role is to
assure we are available and prepared when an individual reaches for help.

Coordinator at 208-354-SAFE.
